Answer: Chondroid syringoma
Histology: Sections show a well demarcated epithelial neoplasm that forms arborizing cords and small epithelial nests surrounded by abundant paucicellilar myxoid matrix. The epithelial cells are cytokeratin and S-100 positive. No distinctive mesenchymal element is noted.
Discussion: Chondroid syringoma is a benign sweat gland tumor that mainly affects the head and neck region. It is also referred to as benign mixed tumor of the skin. The etiology is unknown and they resemble benign mixed tumors of the salivary glands.
