Histology: A number of the small vessels contain fat admixed with hematopoietic elements.
Discussion: The chronic use of steroids can lead to significant osteoporosis, which, in turn, can lead to compression fractures. In some instances compression fractures extrude the bone marrow into the circulation producing bone marrow emboli.
