I have recently been diagnosed with Barretts Low Grade Dysplsia. I have been given the choice between Baarx and a clinical trial for cyrosurgery. Do you have any insight as to which I should choose? I have asked about EMR but told it only is apporporiate for nodules, not large surfaces, although that seems to have the highest complete cure rate.. I am a 53 yr old women.

I can tell you that I’ve read and heard cryo has less side effects than Barrx as far as pain, swallowing, and eating afterwards. Also, I keep hearing stories about having to have a Barrx SalesRep present during the procedure and this creates problems with scheduling. I had 11 cm of HGD cryo’d and was eating my regular diet the next day and had little to no pain.
I am thrilled I had Cryo done especially because I was lucky enough to have it’s innovator do it for me. I made sure I spoke with 3 GI specialists before I made my decision.
